Is there such thing as good pressure cooking?
Hello everyone, I've been considering getting a pressure cooker as an interesting experiment kitchen, but I began to wonder if it's worth the money and if I can produce food with a wide. Pressure cookers are used in commercial kitchens or are major just a gadget for making quick poor quality food? Would expect to see pressure cooking book by Thomas Keller seated next to his book on Sous Vide? Thanks for your help!
I love my pressure cooking. Ideal for making soups and stews. Fantastic ribs and beans are done in no time. I would suggest you get one from a place like Bed Bath and Beyond (do not forget the 20% discount coupon). Try pressure cooker for a couple of times, if you do not like to return to the kitchen. If you really like. My only advice is to have a little bigger than you think you will need. Gone are the days when you have to worry about the explosion of pot pressure. There are at least two "fail-safe" valves on each one I've seen lately. I would advise not to take one at a resale shop unless you know for sure that is in very good condition and all pieces are there and the instructions are there too. Make sure the gasket is in good condition. (I am a fan of resale shops, but in this case I would hold off getting a pressure cooker unless you are sure that it is ready operation.) Ask around you may have friends who have a loan that you and yours can and teach him a lesson in the pressure cooker. I say go for it!
