Question about cable or satellite television?

I live just north of Houston, and I have been researching different options for the cable channels, and I am curious to hear suggestions. I have researched both dish and cable, and both appear to offer similar deals and prices. I do not care about HD – I would margin basic cable channels. In short, I would like a basic cable package (as a 'base 100' plan with local channels), but I'm not sure which in the long term would be the best way to go. Is it better to keep one of the grand plans, like AT & T dish, or go with one of the unheard-of companies advertised in the mail (for example, one who just got to dishASAP.com). Is there a better option than another? I would welcome recommendations or ideas from their experience. Thank you.

The "record companies" are not flying their own satellite up there (which is a large ball type of activity). They are the wholesalers who are treated in one of the usual suppliers of satellite access. If you have a problem with the dish or not to be beaten by something and get wreck smaller firms have the resources to do it again? Check that out and see if there have been complaints or problems BBB against them to get what they promised.
