The media is very powerful – than the average person spends an enormous amount of consumption of his life in one way or another, and spent a significant portion of that time to watch, listen or watch the ads. To use the power of the media, however, you need to know what is doing the opposite, your investment will be a financial disaster. Listed below are the most common forms of advertising media. No doubt you can think of others.
Advertisement Newspaper and Magazines:
There are two types of advertising you can get in newspapers and magazines: classified and display. Classifieds are the small ads in the back of the publication, while display ads can be almost any size from a small corner of a page a large page spread double.
If a publication you are interested in advertising in, or go to its website (the rate card section) or call your department advertising to determine the rates it charges. Now choose the jaw to the floor. Yes, advertising in printed media is really expensive, and most home businesses probably will not be just as economical.
There, however, one exception: niche and trade magazines. If you ever looked around in a newsagent, have seen only how many magazines out there, filling every conceivable gap in the market. You need to find the magazine that people who are interested in their services may read. For example, if you're a wedding photographer, find a magazine called "Your Wedding", "Bride" or something similar. Advertising in these magazines will be much cheaper than placing an ad in a general audience publication, and more likely to actually get some responses.
Advertising on the radio:
Wherever you are, chances are that there is no local radio station. Once your home business growing at a decent size, you might consider buying some time on it.
Really, though, the only home business that can benefit from radio ads enough to justify the cost is one that has something to do with cars. Since radio is almost exclusively limited to use as entertainment in the car now you know that almost everyone that your ad will become a car owner, and so they might be interested in what you offer. If you offer something people need cheap or even for free, you can get a great response.
Unfortunately, that answer might be a bit too big – thanks to the time sensitivity of radio get congratulated the following day, and then everybody forget again. Radio advertising offers the listener no opportunity to keep your ad and refer to it later, or to find again in the future. You'll find that ads involving a phone number is spectacularly useless.
Advertising on television:
Unless your business is getting pretty big, this would be a very bad idea. You would have trouble producing and transmitting a notice, even on local cable channels for less than $ 10,000. Of course, if there is a market for your product and you have the budget for this, you could take a gamble and make a mint. The home businesses that tend to make better television commercials are the ones with a product invention "unique and useful" with easy to demonstrate the benefits – that infomercial. Research shows that almost anything can be sold as an advertisement for 60 seconds, a freephone number and a price of $ 19.95.
The advertising on billboards:
Here is one that is overlooked too often, but can be very effective if you do well. Adverts bulletin board are relatively expensive, but usually stay for a long time, and can be very specifically to a zone – the one that are physically located. You will have the best results with this if you can put one close enough to your business that may say "turn left at the next intersection, or something. The phone numbers are, again, pretty useless, although it might have some luck putting a website address above.
Advertising on the screening:
Finally, here's one that is often overlooked. If upon arrival at the cinema early, you might have seen that before the big ad budget running local business ads. This can be a great place to advertise relatively inexpensively in the form of very high profile, and works especially well for takeaway food business.
