What should be the home theater decor?
I am in the process of finishing my basement and have decided to make a space for a home theater whole system, all speakers agreed, televisions, Xbox, PlayStation 3, I was wondering what color should I paint the room, what would look good?
Not very dark walls … like a chocolate brown with a dark red curtain to wrap enclosing the area to be very dark and intimate. Put fresh comfortable chairs there with lots of fluffy pillows floor for a plush carpet. Do bars hanging from the ceiling with metal curtain rings for curtains can easily slide. Use a dark cloth heavy curtain to block all light. Be creative with sound Surround speaker placement. I really do like a theater. The curtains can be pulled back and left open when not in use. The design of the walls can be mixed with the rest of the room. Use a flat black paint on the walls then use a diaper disposable stain on a lighter version of the same color on flat paint, but painting the light should be a semi-gloss or gloss. This will create a textured effect very expensive painting without using a wallpaper or something else horrible difficult to paint on when or whether to change the design. Maybe an old Hollywood theme. Place pictures of black and white images from vintage Hollywood films. Maybe some old film reels that hangs on the wall with a flick of truth in them. (No matter what is actually in the movie, it's just for decoration) Take two …. piece of Plexiglas Among the plexi glass to make a collage of images of films like the cut of an old VHS tape boxes …. place them as you like. Paste a piece of paper cut the same size as the plexi glass …. then simply put between glass and top with the second piece. Find a sturdy coffee table to establish this session as an "art new painting.
